St. Martinsday, a chatty afternoon and new art

Whilst The Netherlands are being tortured by a heavy storm (yeah, got the bins in the garage in time!), I was having a very nice, chatty afternoon in the Forum Cartel Hangout. Pep showed off his new (extremely ugly) boots, 4ever Silent was not at all silent, Ratt dropped by and told everybody I am a Bulgarian and right before I left the conversation was so confusing,  all I remember is wobbly boobs and waggling bums. Not sure whose bum and/or boobs, but ok!

Today is a special day. No, I am not referring to the Veteran and/or Remembrance Day I keep reading posts about, as we have our Veteransday over here on the  last Saturday of June and Remembrance-day on the 4th of May.

Today is: St. Martins Day!  I feel sorry for the small children that have prepared a lantern and have to go out singing for sweets….in this terrible storm!

St. Martin's Lanterns

It’s best compared to Halloween’s trick or treat, only the children here are not (or not necessarily) in costumes, but they carry a paper St. Martin’s Lantern (made at school, of course) and they sing some nice songs about St. Martin for you. After that, you give them some candy and off they go.
When you do not answer the door, while they see or suspect you are at home, they will sing (very loud!) a nasty song about you being cheap…So yes, I have a bowl of mini-bars ready at the door!

For the occasion, although I do not really expect singing kids in ImperiuM, I have placed two St. Martin Lanterns next to our landing point.

Speaking of which! Our lovely in-house artist Fuschia Nightfire has placed new, amazing, sculptures in our garden. The theme is: fire and they look fabulous when you are in midnightsetting!
(on landing point, at your right).
