I give up

Not a very cheerful title of this post, eh? No, I am not giving up Second Life. Nor Katana-fighting!

I just give up finding someone for a dance on a Saturday-night. This weekend I decided to give it another try and went to a club that Pep showed me the other day. Nice music, very busy…so LOTS of people, all looking for a dance. Well, that was what I was hoping for.
Apparently all one does in a place like that is standing at the side and check profiles or IM with each other. I just don’t know how to deal with that in an elegant way.
I checked some profiles, saw some interesting ones and at some point I even dared to IM a gentleman and ask him for a dance. NO response. I saw him ‘typing’ but he never hit the enter-button…guess he decided to stay quiet!

At least I liked my dress...

So I went to another venue, feeling a bit stupid and ashamed after being ignored and the no-reply on my IM.
The second club was more or less the same. Lovely music, friendly hostess that chatted with me. Maybe she felt sorry for me?
Although one guy IM’med me, sort of asked me to dance and now the strange part: he did not even wait for my reply, but filled it in himself; stating I was probably not interested anyway… and off he went!

That really did it. No more dance-clubs for me. From now on I will spend my Saturdays exploring or fighting.

Don’t just lurk, comment!
