Often I use the Destination Guide to see what is new in SL, and today one of the highlights on my dashboard caught enough attention to TP over and have a look: The Lost Island.

Now, I also saw a comment added in the DG’s entry (one can share, comment, like and all that via Facebook), by someone NOT recommending it as the place was to their experience very tiny due to use of ‘surround sim’ elements.
Lost Island - I

It is true that the ‘surround sim’ elements are used ON the sim, and since one cannot actually walk or be on those, it does make the actual explorable site somewhat smaller, but by no means did it gave me the impression it was tiny. In fact, I found it a tasteful and lovely decorated landscaped jungle – with a hint of fantasy/magic.
Lost Island - II

It has some great detailed spots and there is room for a romantic dance, via the intan dance poles. I ran into some elephants, and fell from a bridge (duh) and I certainly recommend a visit to this lush green forest!

Last Saturday The Sea of Cubic Dreams opened, a wonderful art installation by Alegria Studio on LEA25. I had seen some preview pictures already and was keen to visit as soon as it was open!

The Sea of Cubic Dreams is the first stage of a larger project ‘Theater Night’s Dream’ which is still in progress, so a reason to go back and check it.
For now you will find a wonderful, mesmerizing ‘sea’ with cubes floating around. You can touch them, or sit on them, and give them a push so they will slowly move (you) over the sea.

For the best experience make sure to push your graphics up and enable shadows, to fully see how wonderful it looks. The pics in this blogpost are taken in the region windlight setting and not processed in photoshop at all – other than cropped.

In between horsing around, helping Ratt getting a new look and doing pics with Coober, I also did some exploring! Busy busy eh!

A few days ago I visited Taka No Sakura SLURL, a wonderful Japanese themed sim with some gorgeous spots! I particularly love the Bamboo Forest with soft lightbeams, so relaxing!

Very much worth a visit and lovely for photoshoots!

Today, on a quiet moment, I went through my friendslist. And cleaned it up! Lots of people I never talk to, never meet..and some I cannot even remember…!

I think every quarter or so, I end up with names in that list I really have no clue who they are. It’s mostly newbs I meet in Waterhead, or visitors that come to the ImperiuM and want to add me so they can ask advice on swords or want to come back…. But yeah, at some point..after months of no contact whatsoever…: remove!

Looking for a colorful, but quiet environment? I recently explored  The Blue Lagoon of Greenburg and was  pleasantly surprised!
It’s a lovely mix of the tropics (the lagoon, the jungle-like plants and cosy huts), fantasy (floating islands like in Avatar’s Pandora) and I even found some pre-historic scenes (dinosaurs!!!).
All over the sim are spots to sit and enjoy, some romantic for couples, but when you are travelling alone or with ‘non-romantic’ friends its great too!
On the floating islands you can dance by using the popular intan-couple dances, making it a great night out with a special someone if that’s what you are looking for!
