Work, Party and Snowdrift: A Review of Winter by Cica Ghost

In case you were wondering where I’ve been… no worries, I’m still here. Alive. Technically. Real-life work has hit its traditional end‑of‑year panic mode, that special time when everything is urgent, everything is important, and sleep becomes a vague suggestion rather than a necessity. I am counting down the hours until Christmas Day, when I intend to lie very still and spend an irresponsible amount of time in Second Life. Possibly without speaking to anyone.

Last weekend we also had the Annual Office Christmas Party at Hax Industries, which was… a lot. A festive blur of noise, enthusiasm, and people who definitely should not have been allowed near the playlist. There was dancing. There was joking. It was a blast! The aftermath has left us with:

  • One broken photocopier
  • One mysteriously destroyed telex machine
  • Several unanswered questions and no witnesses

I am tired. Deeply. Profoundly.

Anyway.

Despite the chaos, I did manage to escape into something far more serene: Winter, a region by Cica Ghost. And what an escape it is!

Welcome to the Snow (Please Lower Your Voice)

Winter is an all‑white, whimsical art installation that immediately whispers, “Shhh.” Not in a rude way. More in a please stop bringing your emotional baggage in here kind of way.

Everything is blanketed in snow, not the annoying, slushy, real‑life kind, but the perfect, untouched, fantasy snow that never melts, never soaks your boots, and never makes you question your life choices. It’s peaceful. It’s minimal. It’s the visual equivalent of taking a deep breath and forgetting what day it is.

This is a place to slow down, cam around gently, and contemplate important questions like:

  • Am I walking through a dream?
  • Is this reindeer judging me?
  • Why does silence feel so loud?

Reindeer

About That Reindeer

Let’s address it.

Yes, there are reindeer. And yes, they are… a bit weird. Not aggressive, not dangerous, just unsettling in the way only artistic reindeer can be. They have the quiet confidence of creatures who know something you don’t. Possibly everything.

Do not make sudden movements. Do not challenge them to a staring contest.

Not a reindeer

Literary Snowfall

Cica Ghost notes that Winter was inspired by T.S. Eliot, and the land information includes this quote:

“Winter kept us warm, covering Earth in forgetful snow.”
— T.S. Eliot

Which feels both poetic and deeply accurate here. This region doesn’t just look like winter, it acts like it. It gently covers your thoughts, quiets your internal noise, and temporarily deletes your mental to‑do list. Honestly, more places should do that.

Highly Recommended

Winter by Cica Ghost is sweet, whimsical, calming, and quietly magical. It’s perfect if you’re craving peace, silence, and a moment of stillness, or if you just need a break from neon shopping events and people yelling in group chat.

Come here to wander. To think. To take photos. To stand in the snow doing absolutely nothing and feeling oddly emotional about it.

Just… keep an eye on the reindeer.

Highly recommended. ❄️
