The Geisha’s of Little Yoshiwara

For a different kind of night out this weekend, I went to a performance of The Geisha of Little Yoshiwara. A perfect occasion to wear my Asian-inspired dress from Vogue, but most of all an enjoyable experience.

The Geisha perform a dance on stage, accompanied by music and they tell stories. Stories with, of course, a moral.

I had a nice evening, enjoyed listening to the relaxing music and reading the stories in chat (too bad this venue used shouting tipjars…after every donated tip the serious story-line was interrupted with lots of shouted ‘thanks’…).

The Geisha’s do not have their own place, but perform in different venues, so if you want to go and attend a show, it’s best to either join a group (like Little Yoshiwara or Blue Lotus) or check the events!

I am glad you enjoyed the show. I was playing Koto in your pictures. Little Yoshiwara Okiya does have its own place, in fact it’s an entire region (Search: Little Yoshiwara in SL) but we sometimes perform at other venues too if invited, and this was such an occasion.
