Not sure how seriously scientific this place is, but it sure is fun: The Exploratorium!
It’s a globe with a canon installation on top…you can sit on the cannonball and orbit yourself around the world, in a speed of your choice (menu pops up)!
I shot myself into orbit a couple of times, but I suppose this is more fun when you are with company :). Oh, there are also danceballs for a romantic moment on top of the world!
