After a few hectic weeks of juggling everything life (and Second Life) had to throw our way, Huckleberry and I decided it was time to pause and recharge. What better place to do that than a tropical escape? So we packed our virtual bags and checked into Illustria Resort, a stunning retreat in a beautiful region that felt like an instant exhale.

We booked the luxury tiki hut, a two-bedroom with tropical charm. Huck, ever the spa enthusiast (and lightning-fast clicker), claimed the bedroom with the private hot tub before I even finished unpacking. I graciously took the other room which came with a modern shower and just the right amount of space for me, my shoes, and my slightly dramatic vacation outfits. Honestly, it worked out perfectly; his hot tub didn’t exactly go with my hair anyway.

Every corner of the hut was thoughtfully designed—warm woods, soft lighting, and those little tropical details that make a place feel special. It felt cozy, upscale, and just the right amount of island-fantasy.
The view? Absolutely breathtaking.
We spent quite a bit of time lounging on the deck, or in our private pool, watching the sunset.

One night, we had dinner at the resort’s central restaurant, surrounded by palms and soft lighting. The vibe was calm, elegant, and the food? Chef’s kiss. Huck had the beef, because of course he did, and I went for the fish, because someone has to make the healthy choice while still pretending it was a decadent treat. Let’s just say we both considered ordering dessert twice.

though we were in full relaxation mode, we made time for the gym. A surprisingly well-equipped space where we worked up a sweat. There was weightlifting, spinning, and in Huck’s case, a heroic session of treadmill time, which I assume was mainly cardio prep for our next meal.
At just 500 Linden dollars per night (for the two-bedroom hut), it’s not only affordable—it’s a serious steal for what you get. The whole region is quiet and peaceful, and the sunsets alone are worth the trip. No filters needed.
If you’re looking for a getaway to relax, reconnect, or just enjoy some well-earned peace, I highly recommend a stay at Illustria. We left feeling refreshed, recharged, and already plotting our return (and maybe next time I’ll beat Huck to the hot tub suite).
