Sometimes in Second Life, you visit a region that feels like stepping into a painting. Bloom Haven is one of those places: a lush, green island surrounded by ocean, where the grass is so green it’s practically bragging, and the air smells like springtime.
What I didn’t expect, however, was to be attacked on arrival.

I landed, looked around, and before I could even type a polite “hello” in local, a flock of swans came at me like I’d just insulted their mother. Wings flapping, eyes glaring, and beaks suspiciously pointy, it was less “serene wildlife” and more “Game of Thrones but with waterbirds.”
OK, I may have exaggerated a bit, the swans are static and do not move. But still…it could have happened!
After surviving ‘The Swan Incident’, I ventured further. Bloom Haven is crawling with animals. And by “crawling”, I mean absolutely swarming. I’ve never seen so many critters in one region before. Geese strutted about like they owned the place. Cows lounged in the meadows, chewing and judging my outfit. Sheep grazed on a steep hill, raccoons played in a pond, and capybaras… well, capybaras just existed in their zen little way, silently telling me to calm down about the swans.

Everywhere I looked, there was life: seagulls, herons, chickens, horses, bees. I’m fairly certain there were a few species I missed entirely because they were either too small, too sneaky, or too busy hiding from the swans.
Between the green fields, colourful flowers, clear ponds and cosy nooks perfect for sitting, reading, or recovering from mild bird-related trauma, Bloom Haven is a lovely place to explore. The beaches offer peaceful ocean views, though I recommend checking behind you for suspicious birds or raccoons before you relax.

Bring your camera, bring your friends, bring a packet of swan repellent.
Bloom Haven is a delightful escape into nature. Part petting zoo, part National Geographic, part Hitchcock’s The Birds.
