RFL

THE event of the year, since years in Second Life for me is:  The Fantasy Faire. And I am thrilled, excited ánd very proud that the FF 2017 organisation again asked me to contribute on the official Fantasy Faire website/blog as guest author and as photographer.

The Fantasy Faire 2017 will span 15 sims and I am already sure they all will be amazing, the Fairelands open to the public 20-30 April and it is an offical SL RFL event. One of the biggest in Second Life.

Merchants can apply already and blogger application will open soon, for more information on that,  please check the offical Fantasy Faire website!

On a side note, there is this.

One of the veteran Fantasy Faire sim designers for years is Elicio Ember, known from his home Cerridwen Cauldron and his awesome sims for past Fantasy Faires.
This year he had to pull out from the Faire, for personal – tragic – reasons, his father got seriously ill and in the country he lives (Mexico) , treatment is possible but at a high cost.
Due to circumstances, all explained on this website Filling the Cauldron, Elicio cannot be a part of his beloved Faire as he is facing not only caring for his father but also a lot of medical costs.

The Fantasy Faire community and lovers of Cerridwen’s Cauldron have stepped up, and while Elicio will not be able to participate in this years Faire, the Second Life community can participate by helping him out.

RUNNING FROM SATURDAY APRIL 1ST THROUGH SUNDAY APRIL 9TH, Filling the Cauldron will be a region-wide event at Holly Kai Park  – by Inara Pey and Caitlin Pey (caitlyn015.resident) in the beautiful Blake sea, and will be featuring:

–   Live music and DJ performances at the park’s main events venue
–   An art display inspired by Elicio’s work
–   An auction
–   A special Design a Garden contest with a very special prize
–   A photo contest with special prizes
–   A market area, Cerridwen’s Corner – a mini-store of Elicio’s creations, allowing you to buy his items & visit his main store.

Filling the Cauldron. Check it out.

See you at the Fantasy Faire!

Tomorrow, saturday 9 april at 11AM (SLT) the A Stand for Hope Photography Exhibition will be opened for the public.
The past months 21 SL Photographers have worked to make portaits/pictures or 21 caregivers/survivors, and I am honoured and proud to be one of the photographers.

The images and artworks will be revealed tomorrow, so the caregivers/survivors will get to see their portraits for the first time! I have had a chance to see all pics already, as I was asked to come see if my work was displayed as I wanted (and they were!) and I was in awe to see the amazing photos of my fellow photographers!

Fantasy Faire 2017

The doors slide open a nudge. There is no expected creak, no sound despite their heavy appearance. There’s just light, escaping in brilliant rays and dancing sparkles, in a wisp of purple curling toward the onlooker.

The Fairelands are stirring, taking shape in their gradual annual rebirth. Streams spring to life, forests grow out of mere blades of grass, mountains flatten to valleys, sand turns to stars, the breeze carries scents of sea and adventure.

The doors are opening. The portals are shifting, searching for the connection to our world. Soon.

Fantasy Faire is coming. The eleven days of magic will take place April 21st – May 1st and the preparations are well under way.

If you are a creator looking to participate in the Faire, there might still be a few themed stores available, but no guarantees! Check out the registration form here. If you are interested in sponsoring…

Oh my……I am going to get the rose gold one, got a ribbon already to wear it on!

Fantasy Faire 2017

Designed by Kaelis Ember, this beautiful pendant is a memory waiting for you to capture it. Representing the Spirit of Fantasy Faire as envisioned by Alia Baroque for the 2015 Fantasy Faire poster, this gorgeous piece of original art will hang proudly around your neck, a tangible token of your efforts to end the hold cancer has over the lives of so many. A Relay for Life of Second Life event benefiting the American Cancer Society, the Fantasy Faire brings together people from all around the globe who share a love of Fantasy and a united belief that a cure for cancer doesn’t have to be a fantasy forever. Join us and show that you too believe in the strength of Fantasy to shape our reality. Whether it’s for yourself or a loved one, this pendant will always be a reminder of the strength of what we can do together…

In about 4 days, on 1 May, the Fantasy Faire 2014 will open its 11 sims and will run till 11 May. As always, the faire is a RFL event and creators will sell event exclusives and many proceeds go the RFL.

Because I enjoy this Faire every year, as the sims are amazing and showcases of wonderful builds (yes, shopping is cool too!), I applied as blogger just to try to get early access to make pictures of the sims. To my surprise and delight, I did not only get early access…but even pre-early access and was asked by the organisation to take pretty photo’s of all sims, giving me access per yesterday – allowing me to wander around practically all alone, as the shops are still empty and some buildings are still being finalised. Also, I will occasionally blog on the Fantasy Faire website as guest writer/photographer, when the faire is open. I am very excited!

I am not a product- or fashion blogger, there are many many others who do a much better job in that, but as you can imagine I could not wait to tp to the Fairelands and have a look!

Now, I will not publish the pics I already took, but they will be published soon :). I can say this: The Fantasy Faire 2014 is a must visit. The sims look gorgeous and you will not be disappointed.

For more information, Slurls (as soon as the Faire is open)  lists of vendors, interviews with sponsors and creators and of course more information and details on RFL, go to the official website : Fantasy Faire 2014. For preview photo’s of products and locations, there is a Flickr Group.
