Born on the 4th of July

My mother was.

Tomorrow would have been her 66th birthday. A warm, sunny summer day, as always. Often, when I was a child,  we were on vacation in Italy and celebrated her birthday on a camping with a BBQ and when my sister and I were ‘lucky’..we were allowed half a glass of red Bardolino wine (rest of the glass filled with water….).

Time flies, eh? This year in August it will be 10 years ago that she passed away.

I will, in her honour, open a bottle of red Italian wine, sit in the sun and play her favourite musical tomorrow. I may even sing out loud and dance, like a true child of the 60’s :)

And yeah… Mama…I miss ya….Cheers!

When the moon is in the seventh house
and jupiter aligns with mars
The peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars

this is the dawning of the age of aquarius
the age of aquarius

harmony and understanding
sympathy and trust abounding
no more falsehoods or derisions
golden living dreams of visions
mystic crystals revelations
and the minds true liberation

  1. Awwwwwwwww, my mom was born 7/7 so we celebrate it around this time of the year too. She has been gone since 2006 and was a wonderful and loving influence. <33 Here's to Moms with Musical Favorites. I think mom's fave was West Side Story or Camelot. She loved music.

    1. Thanks Argus <3. 2006 is not long ago….2001 feels like yesterday at times. I am not always sad, in fact: mostly I am just thankful and am blessed that the lovely and sweet memories took over from the sadness and emptiness.
I say: let's raise a glass and love our Moms, am sure they are up there, watching at us and smiling :)).

      Cheers and happy birthdays!

  2. I worry about that my Mum can see some of the terrible things I get up to – although she is 200km down the M4 motorway and still taking money off everyone at the Golf Club on Bridge night. She used to be a Maths teacher and she was reputed by her pupils – and my younger brother – to have eyes in the back of her head!

I am delighted that you will be celebrating, even if it is tinged with the sadness of nostalgia.

    Pep (can be sincere occasionally.)

    1. Heh Pep, I think all mothers have eyes in the back of their head, mine had them too!
Nothing wrong with some nostalgia at times, eh?

And yeah, I know you can be sincere, but won’t tell anyone!
      :p
