Pususaari. “Quiet. Wild at Heart.”

They say Pususaari is “quiet” and “wild at heart.” Which, as it turns out, is exactly what I strive for in life. Ideally, while wrapped in a chunky knit sweater, sipping tea, and staring at the horizon like a mysterious novel heroine who’s just about had it.

So I went.

Pususaari is a stunning island full of green and orange woods (yes, some trees are already giving October vibes in July, fashionably early!), soft beaches, a charming chapel, a windmill, a lighthouse, and apparently, wildlife.
I didn’t see any wildlife…though for a moment I thought I heard something. Oh well.

The place is beautiful. Like, really. There’s a romantic swing chair with an epic ocean view, which I fully enjoyed…with my back to it. Look, some of us came to think about life, not look at it, OK?

And then there’s the field. Oh, that field! Glowing gold under the low sun, dotted with wild horses who look like they were cast from a high-budget fantasy film. They gallop around for no reason, their manes catching the light like someone whispered “Oscar nomination” in their ears. I didn’t try to pet them, but I did whisper, “Take me with you,” as one trotted by. It ignored me. Typical.

In the distance, there’s also a huge waterfall cascading from the cliffs, the kind of majestic backdrop that makes you want to stand with your arms wide open and yell something like “I am one with the wind!” but then you remember your mic is on in local and someone is probably listening.

At Pususaari, you’ll find a lovely mix of peaceful stillness and a slight underlying suspicion that nature might eat you. It’s perfect for dates, quiet walks, photography, or accidentally walking into a family of hunting bears.

So if you’re looking for a place to wander, breathe deeply, kiss romantically, or just pose cute in your new outfit in front of scenery you’re not even looking at, Pususaari is it!

Come for love. Stay for stillness. Maybe bring bear spray, just in case.
