A Walk Through an Art Deco Dream – Hair Fair 2025

It’s that time of year again: The Hair Fair is back! And while we all come for the hair (and there’s a lot of fabulous hair!), this year I want to give a standing ovation to something equally showstopping: the build itself!

Spread across six regions laid out like a connected shopping street, Hair Fair 2025 is a thoughtful design. As you wander from booth to booth, you’re walking through a bold, stylised Art Deco world with sweeping lines, dramatic spires, and wonderful detailing. Every façade feels like it belongs on the cover of a 1920s fashion magazine.

The regions are arranged two by two, cleverly joined so you naturally flow from one area to the next. Region crossings are clearly marked with signs. Think Great Gatsby meets high fashion metropolis, with a touch of glam noir. The greenery in front of the storefronts adds a pop of colour.

Applause to the Build Team behind this year’s look: Astralia Yoyo, Anya Ohmai, and Mel VanBeek. This is a gorgeous shopping event, and you’ll want to take pics (and maybe even use as your desktop background… I did!).

Of course, the Hair Fair isn’t just about eye candy. Every booth showcases the latest exclusive hairstyles and past releases, hair accessories, hair bases & facial hair, hair poses and props, with a percentage of all sales donated to Wigs for Kids, a fantastic non-profit that provides hairpieces for children who’ve lost their hair due to medical conditions. Shopping for a good cause? Sign me up.

None of this would be possible without the tireless work of Sasy Scarborough, the heart and drive behind Hair Fair. Her dedication, passion, and organisation make this event an annual shopping highlight! Thank you, Sasy, for everything you do!

Hair Fair 2025 is open through June 15, so make sure you stop by, not just for the hair, but also for the experience. And maybe bring a camera, or at least your best walking animation and wear sensible shoes.
