Hope – I believe I can fly

“Hope
Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,
Whispering ‘it will be happier’…”
― Alfred Tennyson

This weeks ‘Monday Meme’ isn’t from Berry, but for Berry – a sweet initiative by her friend Winter Jefferson who calls out all bloggers and online-friends to show her support in dealing with a broken heart by sharing how we got over loss, disappointments and big changes in life.

Quite the personal meme and it got me thinking. Yes, I have – as so, so many – had my heart broken, ripped out, smashed into pieces and thrown away. A couple of times even. I have lost loved ones, friends and family. I am not going to go into details of my own disappointments and hurt I have had. There is still some left, although it is not so much on the surface anymore, but it’s there.

I know, and I believe eventually we all know, things will get better. Happiness will come back. Not magical and not by itself, but at some point Berry will know, when the worst hurt is over and it gets its place.

I have no wise words for Berry and all of you dealing with pain, hurt and loss, other than what we all already know: Give it time. Take time. You will heal. The tears will stop. It will be happier.

Hope - I

‘I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly’
